We have all experienced a bad break-up, whether that be over the phone or by text, but imagine finding out about your own break-up in the tabloids. That is what happened to The Young & Restless Actor Max Ehrich, who discovered his separation with Disney singer- Demi Lovato.
The celebrity couple hit the headlines for their whirlwind romance, but after a shock split into their two-month engagement, Max took to Instagram to share his anguish. “Imagine finding out about the status of your relationship through a tabloid, while you’re in the middle of filming a biopic movie”. This comes days after sharing intimate posts regarding their 6-month milestone, implying the break-up was far from mutual.
However, according to People Magazine; a close source to Demi argued that Max knew about the break-up before being released to the tabloid. Controversially, on the 27th September, Max hit back at these claims by posing on Instagram “I was on the set of my new movie, ‘Southern Gospel,’ with the crew and cast members right next to me who literally watched me open my phone where I then opened a tabloid”.
But why did they break up so suddenly? That’s the question we all want to know! The pair have not spoken publicly regarding their split but is implied to be the result of a failed quarantine romance. Since dating for a week in March, the unfortunate timing of Miss C. Rona meant the couple accelerated their relationship by moving in together. After restrictions were lifted, work became the forefront of their schedules and distance “put a strain” on their relationship.
Max came into Demi’s life at a time where she was pushed more into the limelight, following her recovery from addiction. Demi quoted that since being with him, she “started meditating and doing yoga”, “because [Max] is so positive all the time, I started picking up on the things he does”. So, this shocking split appears to be a positive story of ‘when people come into your life for a reason’. A source claims they “decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers” and that “the split is a good thing”. So, we hope they can become amicable in the future.
