Saved By The Bell: Reboot

NBC is excited to announce that they are bringing back a beloved television sitcom that people have been missing since the ‘90’s. In July 2020, a reboot of Saved by the Bell will be released, featuring Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie, Slater as Mario Lopez, Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack, and Ed Alonzo as Max. The show will continue to follow the friends on their adventures at California’s Bayside High School. Many have been hoping for a reboot that shows the next stage of the original storyline, where the group navigated school, friendships, breakups, and frustrating their school principal. The reboot catches up with the cast in their adulthood, years after graduation. The new series will be aired on NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock.

In this new series, Zack Morris has recently been elected as governor of California and is being scrutinized for closing down many low-income schools. To solve this problem, Morris suggests that these students be sent to schools with more resources, including the iconic Bayside High. In the reboot, Slater is a gym teacher at Bayside, where Zack and Kelly’s son and Jessie’s son go to school.

Lopez gave fans a sneak peak into the new reboot in a video of him on set with Berkley. In the video, they are in the old diner, The Max, where Bayside students spent time together in the TV show. Berkley mentioned, “Talk about being in a time machine,” Fans are all looking forward to seeing their favorite characters come back for a reunion. We can’t wait to see what the cast has in store for us, in hopes that it will give us a little more positivity in 2020.
