Christina Aguilera sings in Spanish for the first time in almost a decade and teams up with Becky G, Nathy Peluso and Nicki Nicole for a new single titled “Pa Mis Muchachas.”
The song is a celebration of the Latina sisterhood and embodies the spirit of being a strong woman and empowering others to be strong as well. Among other things, Aguilera has said the song pays tribute to previous generations and reminds women who they are and that people should accept others free of judgment.
“I am proud to reveal mi primera canción [my first song] from a body of work that lives so closely to my heart,” she wrote on her social media. “And these beautiful, strong, and talented women are joining forces with me for this first Guaracha.”
Along with the single, the video of “Pa Mis Muchachas” directed by Alexandre Moore was released. The piece was recorded in Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, and Madrid…
The single is the comeback of Aguilera singing in Spanish since her 2000’s album Mi Reflejo.
“It’s a big deal right now and it’s really nostalgic and part of my Latin culture and history,” she told Billboard in an interview in July.
“So this is really, really fun to get into some family roots and explore who I am now as a woman musically. Things are coming from a different approach.”
