Regina King’s son, musician Ian Alexander Jr. death was officially ruled a suicide by Los Angeles County coroner. He was King’s only child, whom she shared with ex-husband, recording producer Ian Alexander Sr. Following in his father’s footsteps, Ian was a DJ. Regina and her son also have matching tattoos that read “unconditional love” in Aramaic. Regina described him as “A bright light who cared so deeply”. A week before he passed, he shared on twitter that he felt as though Instagram wasn’t healthy for him. In another tweet he wrote “You know that episode of SpongeBob where they go inside his brain and it’s a bunch of mini SpongeBob’s just losing their s*** …. Yea that one really hits home”
Regina writes “Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss on Ian. He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”
