The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, hosted a reception at Kensington Palace for those who had helped towards the new Princess Diana statue. The event had been postponed due to Covid restrictions, but the Duke and the Duchess, Kate Middleton, were finally able to host the event last Tuesday.
The Royals did celebrate during the summer but just with close family members due to those restrictions.
The family members that did join in celebration this time round did include the two brothers (Prince William and Prince Harry), Princess Diana’s brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, her sisters Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Jane Fellowes, Baroness Fellowes, statue committee members, the statue sculptor Ian Rank- Broadley and the Sunken Garden’s designer, Pip Morrison.
After not being able to take full advantage of the celebration, this was a great way to finally bring everyone together and honour Princess Diana’s life, as well as celebrate the great work of all of those who come together to create the statue masterpiece.
