Many people are thanking former Georgia gubernatorial candidate and voting rights activist , Stacey Abrams, for Georgia turning blue for President elect Joe Biden. However, she says the credit of registering voters goes to others as well. Instead of running for office again this year, Abrams, and her organization “Fair Fight” increased voter registration.

Earlier this year in January, Abrams commented on the upcoming presidential election statting, “Because Georgia has the youngest population of a battleground state. We have the highest percentage of African Americans of a battle ground state. And we’ve proven that both communities will turn out”.
Data shows that in the last 10 years, Georgia’s population increased by 18 percent. Unmarried women and people of color between the ages of 18 to 29 made up 62 percent of the voting age population in Georgia.
