Jesy Nelson from Little Mix recently left the successful girl group as her heart wasn’t in it anymore, and even more recently she has announced that she will be starting her solo music career journey – which is expected to be just as successful.
She announced the news that she will be joining record label Polydor via Instagram, with a picture of herself crouching in front of the Polydor sign. She looked as glamourous as ever, with ripped white jeans and styling the outfit with a black beanie.
The caption beneath the Instagram photo read:
‘’So excited to announce that I’ve signed my first ever solo record deal with @polydorrecords @universalmusicgroup. This is such a pinch me moment. I cannot wait for you guys to hear what I’ve been working on.’’
Polydor have signed so many other household names such as Years and Years, Mabel and YUNGBLUD – those being just the UK stars.
The news of Jesy starting her solo music career come just after the news that Little Mix (who are signed with Sony) had cut financial ties with Jesy. The girls are expected to earn £5 million on their next tour, with Jesy losing out on such a huge profit – although with her upcoming solo career, it’s probably not a concern.
A source has spoken out about this, insinuating that if Jesy remained in the group – or at least as a director to their business ‘Eternal Magic Touring’ – she could have still made money through the brand, just like Victoria Beckham did with the Spice Girls.
We look forward to seeing what is next from Jesy, and hearing her own artistic style.
