Being a motherless teenager battling abandonment. Homelessness inspired Henderson to pen her experience in her first memoir called “Katina: When God closed His Eyes on New Orleans”.

Henderson began writing the memoir at 15 while taking refuge in the New Orleans Superdome.

“My story is designed for an audience who at some point has felt they weren’t good enough to make it out; people who didn’t believe they had a chance to soar beyond the extent of their family and friends,” stated Henderson.

She continued by saying, “When God closed his eyes is for those who believe the life they were given is all they will ever be. [My story] will bring motivation, inspiration, and authenticity to people all around the world who have questioned their purpose in life when surrounded by temporary situations.
