Kate Middleton has just celebrated her 40th birthday, and with a tribute to the Queen and Princess Diana, she celebrated the milestone with a sensational photoshoot.
Kensington Palace shared three of the many photographs that were taken of the Duchess of Cambridge, with her of course looking as stunning as ever in each of them.
The photos were taken by Paolo Roversi at Kew Gardens, Roversi revealed that the 3 photos were selected from 250 shots, mostly in black and white, after being narrowed down to 70 originally.
In one of the photos Kate Middleton was styled with a red one shoulder Alexander McQueen dress, accessorising with the Queen’s diamond pendant earrings, such a touching way to also celebrate the Queen and signify how she will follow her footsteps.
Fans took to social media to speak about not only how stunning Kate looked in the photos, but how fascinating it was that her dress had pockets. One fan had said ‘’you know dress pockets are a big deal when even the Duchess of Cambridge herself uses them’’. How relatable!
This photo in particular also has similarities of a photo taken of the Queen back in 2019, where she too had her hands in her pockets.
Kate took to social media to say thank you for the lovely comments “Thank you for all of your very kind birthday wishes, and to Paolo and the National Portrait Gallery for these three special portraits. C.”
Kate is said to have celebrated her birthday privately with her family.
The other two photos of Kate she wore pearl drop earrings that were the late Princess Diana’s, who sadly died age 36. With Kate one day inheriting Diana’s old title, it is a touching yet subtle tribute to honour her memory.
Kate and her husband, Prince William have been taken on more royal responsibilities and duties as Queen Elizabeth has been reported to have been ill, so these photos signify what is to come in such a stunning way.
