Jemima Khan was initially brought in as part of the crew of hit Netflix show, The Crown, to help tell the story of her close friend, Princess Diana, helping to recreate the last few years of Diana’s life.
The recreation of her story was going to focus on her life before her tragic death in a Paris car crash in 1997, such as her divorce with Prince Charles and her relationship with heart surgeon, Hasnat Khan.
Since the show brought Jemima in, however, things didn’t go to plan and she walked out of her role as part of the team, also demanding that her name was removed from the credits.
The reason for her leaving was said to be because she felt as though the story was not being as ‘’told as respectfully or compassionately as [she] had hoped’’, therefore didn’t want her contributions to the initial discussions to be part of the show.
Since Jemima’s dramatic exit people have been waiting on Diana’s son, Prince Harry, to break his silence on the issue.
Sources close to Harry have even commented on how silent he has been when it comes to not only his Netflix deal, but this particular incident involving his beloved mother.
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have recently signed a huge deal with Netflix where they are set to make documentaries, children’s programmes, scripted shows and feature films.
Sources have said how Harry should ‘’tear up the deal and make a stand for his mother’’ adding ‘’what’s more important? Money or defending his mum? It’s astonishing he can’t find his voice on this’’. Harry has apparently been told to break his silence on this matter.
Apparently, Harry has spoken about the show before during interviews so he is aware of how the show does delve into his family’s history.
The hit Netflix show, The Crown, coming out November next year, will be on it’s fifth series.
