On the 28th June, the show we have all been waiting for finally returned…Love Island 2021!
After a longer wait than normal (thanks covid), it was the time of year where – apart from when England are playing football – Britain comes together.
Especially after the year everybody has had, with loss of all kinds, Love Island is the perfect show for us all to laugh, cry and get excited about. Even host Laura Whitmore said how she think’s ‘’it’s been good to have a break’’, going on to speak of how crazy the applications have been to get on the show this time round.
Applications for the show are normally live right until a few days before the final; giving young, good – looking guys and girls a chance to have a summer of a lifetime, and this year you can also apply through Tinder!
If you are selected via Tinder, you will be added to a ‘priority list’ and are guaranteed to be seen by the Love Island team, so this is your reminder to sort out your bios and selfies!
So, who have we got in the villa currently? And who has been sent single and packing?
In true Love Island tradition, the show starts off with five guys and five girls, with the aim of the game being to couple up in order to stay in the villa.
The guys come in one at a time, the girls can then stand forward for their favourite hottie, and it goes on like that until they all have a match.
First off let’s introduce the girls:
Liberty, 21 from Birmingham
Sharon, 25 from Oxford
Kaz from Essex
Faye from Devon
Chloe – who joined later, turning heads and stirred the pot
Now for the boys:
Hugo – current fan favourite and PE teacher cutie
Brad – cheeky lad from Northumberland
Aaron from London
Jake, 24 and coupled up with Liberty
Toby from Essex
Dumped islanders:
Shannon – one of the original girls
Chuggs (nickname a mixture of cuddles and hugs)
You can watch the show from 9pm on ITV2 each night, and to see some of the older series (and arguably better) you can catch those on Netflix!
