Ex Little Mix band member, Jesy Nelson has recently announced that she will no longer be working with Polydor Records after joining them a year ago as a solo artist.
After leaving Little Mix back in 2020, Nelson left to pursue her own solo career and to start looking after her mental health as she started feeling too much pressure being in the world-famous girl group.
Polydor Records have worked with stars such as Sam Fender and Billie Eilish, and even after Nelson’s first song with Polydor, ‘Boyz’ amongst the controversy there was still high hopes for her to make it big in her solo journey.
However, after only making it to number four in the charts, and then delays on her follow up single and her debut album, there seemed to be trouble in paradise.
The reports now seem that after a year of being signed by Polydor, they no longer work together because of creative differences, focusing mainly on agreeing on the direction her new music will take.
A source has said that she made the decision to leave now so everyone is still on good terms, and how there ‘’are some independent labels who believe they can help’’ and ‘’give her the freedom she clearly desires’’.
A Polydor spokesperson has commented on her departure, ‘’we have enjoyed working with her and everyone at the label wishes her nothing but the best for the future’’.
