Aaron Carter, who was found dead in November at age 34, was not included in the televised ceremony’s annual In Memoriam segment at the Grammy’s. The tribute included Loretta Lynn, David Crosby, Migos rapper Takeoff and more. Musicians Kacey Musgraves, Migos’ Quavo, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt and Mick Fleetwood performed during the segment while names and faces of the late artists were projected behind them. Fans of the late singer Aaron carter were very disappointed with the Recording Academy on social media after the “I Want Candy” singer was left out of 65th awards telecast. Though he hasn’t won or been nominated for a Grammy, the pop star had a substantial following.
One fan tweeted, “How dare they not recognize @aaroncarter on the Grammys during the video tribute of musicians that passed away last year #boycottgrammys.”
“The Grammy’s not including Aaron Carter in any of their 2022 memorial tributes is so sad to me! That poor guy dedicated his entire life to the music industry! Just feels wrong in my opinion.
RIP
@aaroncarter
You will always be iconic to me!” Another tweeted.
Aarons former wife, Melanie Martin, told TMZ that was baffled by the omission. All Carter ever wanted was for his music to be recognized and that the apparent mistake was a slap in the face to his legacy.
