Jennifer Lopez leaves Spain amid Covid outbreak on “The Mother” Set




Jennifer Lopez’s latest film, The Mother, put a pause on production in Spain since there was a coronavirus outbreak on the set. The actress and singer flew back to the US in a private jet this week, after being isolated while awaiting shooting. 

Lopez was supposed to film several scenes during the week but was only spotted last Wednesday in an outdoor scene with Joseph Fiennes. 

The Mother, which is set to be released this year, had been filming in Vancouver, British Columbia, before the production recently moved to Gran Canaria, near the Canary Islands.

The local paper, La Provincia, first reported that a ‘massive’ coronavirus outbreak plagued a Netflix shoot, causing a suspension of production that allegedly lasted weeks. 

PEOPLE magazine confirmed that filming overseas had been halted ‘due to positive coronavirus cases associated with the production team.

“The Mother” began shooting in October last year. The film was slated to conclude later this month, but with the new pause, it is still unknown how it would affect the shooting and release of the movie.
