The news of rapper Jeezy launching a sports agency first came from Yahoo Sports reporter Chris Payne. Payne also noted that Yahoo would support and market players from the NBA to the NFL. Jeezy is very familiar in the sports industry after a 2014 VIBE pairing with sports analyst Jay Bilas. In the interview Bilas discussed how Jeezy was an inspiration for him, along with details on how his music went with him throughout his everyday life.
Jeezy has named his agency ‘Sports 99’- which will serve as a full service sports management agency to represent athletes and coaches in the U.S and internationally. The agency will begin with professional representation for NBA and NFL players.
The “Snowman” has officially joined the group of Hip-Hop moguls who also own sports agencies. These artists include legends like Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.
The rapper finally announced the official launch of Sports 99 on Instagram quoting “I have learned through the trials and tribulations of my career, what it’s like to have to co-manage yourself. I want to help athletes accumulate real wealth and life skills needed to invest in their future. I’ve always been drawn to athlete culture and making music that motivates and inspires them and others.”
More on the upcoming agency is soon to come.
