The Real Housewives of New York City star, Bethenny Frankel is suing TikTok for allegedly misusing her content after scammers on the app apparently created fake ads with her videos.
Frankel has claimed that multiple accounts have stolen her TikTok content to promote counterfeit items, going on to claim that it is ‘damaging and tarnishing’ her brand with products she ‘’does not support’’.
The lawsuit has explained how when Frankel previously posted a TikTok video to warn her videos of the scamming, encouraging her followers to report the videos, TikTok allegedly deleted the video because it was ‘abusive’.
Frankel has spoken out about the case, saying how she hope that it now encourages TikTok to enforce better strategies for its creators and consumers.
When speaking about the outcome she hopes for Frankel said the following “First and foremost, I want there to be a tangible change, whether it’s an act, a law, a process, a step, that protects content creators,”
She goes on to say “An effort needs to be made by TikTok to protect creators and consumers. There are people who purchased these products after they saw these ads with me in them.”
