Remember the Cheetah Girls? How could we forget? Our beloved four fierce feline divas, played by Raven Symone, Adrienne Balon, Sabrina Bryan, and Kiely Williams. However, did you know the line-up for the girls originally included Solange Knowles?! Yep! That’s right, film producer Debra Martin Chase has revealed that Solange was to appear in the original Cheetah Girls film and star as Aqua, a role that was later given to Williams.
The reason Solange did not take the part was due to her Solo Star album debut in 2002. The timing was all wrong! Conflicts arose between Solange’s acting career and music with her album dropping in December of 2002 and the Cheetah Girls movie being released the following August of 2003.
Although Solange did move on to star in other films like Johnson’s Family Vacation, where she played the role of Nikki, the big sister to Bow Wow (Dj Johnson) and Gabby Soleil (Destiny Johnson) , fans can’t help but wonder what the Cheetah Girls would have been like had she been able to fulfill the role.
