Rapper Lil Yachty’s entrepreneurial spirit knows no bounds as he bursts into the world of beauty with his new fingernail polish line called Crete. Yachty joins the likes of other celebrities in the beauty space, such as Pharrell, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, and Selena Gomez.
If Lil Yachty is unknown to you, maybe his recent hit song with Drake and the Dababy titled “Oprah’s Bank Account” may jog your memory. For those who still don’t know Miles Parks McCollum, AKA Lil Yachty.
He is a rapper and songwriter born in Atlanta but chose to plant the roots of his career in New York City.
On his rise to stardom, he worked shifts at McDonald’s while recording music. Lil Yachty Releasing his debut album Lil Boat on Mar. 2016, as a joint venture with Quality Control Music, Capitol Records, and Motown Records, received positive acclaim.
Now, four studio albums in and a Grammy nomination later, Yachty sets his eyes on the world of fashion. His new fingernail polish line titled Crete, which he is very excited about.
The Crete Lineup features different nail polish shades with various hues such as grey, black, and white. The polishes deviate from the traditional nail polish bottle look. Lil Yachty and his team freshened up the look, putting the new polish in slim, stylish matte black tubes, giving it a chic look.
The rapper took to the gram to proclaim his new fashion venture: Crete, a gender-neutral line of “nail paints.”
Yachty is not the only male artist new to the game of rocking nail polish, combating social norms for the sake of self-expression. Male artists such as Bad Bunny, Jaden Smith, Harry Styles, and Lil Nas X sport nail polish. These artists are controversial in their own right, either in their music, views, or clothing style.
Ever since the announcement, other celebrities were not shy to outpour their support for the rapper.
