“#Don’tGoYet is the first song from my next album, Familia,” she said sharing a clip from the single’s music video via Instagram. “The album’s journey started with @scottharris123 and our makeshift studio in my bedroom in Miami about a year ago. We just had a mic, some MDI keyboards and guitars! Then we brought it to LA where I met and worked with @mikesabath for the first time. That first day of working together, we wrote this song after listening to old Cuban songs and playing with my dog Tarzan. Then @rickyreed (who side-gigs as my therapist sometimes LOL) put his sauce alllll over it. These guys have become my true friends and we created a really loving and inspiring creative space.”

The festive and catchy track celebrates Cabello’s Cuban heritage. The rhythmic single includes a rich array of drums, trumpets, and Cabello’s passion with her impressive vocals as she begs her lover to entertain her for a little while longer. It comes with inevitable flamenco guitar and percussion by the drummer Pedrito Martinez. The single’s music video even features her dad, sister, and cousin.

We stan for Cabello embracing her Cuban culture!

Although the Cuban-American singer/songwriter did not mention a release date, she did take to social media, opening up to her fans about the journey and Latin pop influences for the bounce-back single and project.

On the other hand, Cabello explained Familia would show a different side of her since her two previous albums, including her debut album and her 2019 effort “Romance.”

“This album was inspired by two things: family & food,” Cabello tweeted. “Your family by blood, but also your chosen family. Who you want to sit at the dinner table, get wine-drunk, & dance in the living room with.”

While everyone waits for the much-anticipated release date, there’s no denying Cabello’s album will be played at every family’s next fiesta!

“To me, those are the moments that make me glad to be alive, those moments of collective joy & true vulnerability & connection with other people,” she exclaimed in a follow-up message to fans. “I hope you enjoy it & I hope it inspires many wine drunk kitchen dance parties for you & your familia.”
