Picture this: You just hopped off the school bus after a long week. You run in your room and turn the T.V. on to tune into the top 10 countdown. Everything is much simpler. 106 & Park was truly for the culture! Created in 2000, the daily show would feature music videos, celebrity interviews, and “Freestyle Fridays” all hosted in front of a live audience.
The show was on air for 14 years with hosts like A.J Holloway and Free (2000-2005), Julissa and Big Tigger (2005-2006), Terrence J and Rocsi (2006-2012), and Bow Wow and Keshia Chanté (2012-2014). When the show ended, many people around the country were heartbroken. After all, this was before social media was really big. It connected us all in a way. It gave new artists a platform.
For years fans have pondered over the idea of the show coming back to our television screens. Maybe it can finally be saved after all. Former host, Bow Wow, took to Twitter today to say how he has hopes of the show rebooting. He wrote, “My first mission is to bring back 106&Park!”
If the show were to come back, who would you want to be the host? Would you even be here for a reboot?
