Cardi B and her sister Hennessy Carolina just beat a defamation case brought against them by three people who got into a confrontation with Carolina in The Hamptons back in September 2020.
According to the lawsuit filed in Suffolk County, New York, the three plaintiffs claimed Carolina and her friends parked and blocked one of their vehicles.
When the plaintiff wearing a MAGA hat approached Carolina’s girlfriend who was the driver, Carolina began filming the altercation and allegedly began “shouting foul and threatening language and defamatory statements.”
The plaintiffs accused Carolina of using intimidating language, calling the group “racist Maga supporters”.
Cardi B tweeted a video of the altercation, claiming her sister was targeted because she is Afro-Hispanic and gay.
A New York trial judge dismissed the defamation, assault, and battery case, arguing Carolina’s insults did not rise to the level of defamation.
The win in court comes only two months after Cardi B was awarded $1.25m in damages in a defamation action against the gossip blogger Tasha K.
