UK fast-fashion brand PrettyLittleThing has rebranded their website and products, much to many customers’ dismay.
The brand has previously been a part of fashion shows, including New York Fashion Week with Naomi Campbell in 2023, and Miami Swim Week in 2022.
Most recently at Paris Fashion Week, PLT showed off their latest rebrand, with a statement highlighting the brand’s ‘refreshed identity’ with a ‘new era that seamlessly marries trend-driven energy with refined sophistication.’
PLT was formerly known as a girly brand with a pink, white and black website; often a website that girls used to pick out an outfit for a night out or vacation. Since the relaunch, the brand seems to have taken a different approach, with a more muted aesthetic, creams and whites instead of the previous brighter colours.
The clothes they are selling have also seemed to take a slightly new approach from their usual colourful night out wear, with them now selling more formal, neutral attire. The clothes they offer now are blazers, pantsuits and more fitted formal matching sets.
As well as the clothes they sell, they previously had a more extensive feature on their page for plus-sized women, with curvy models and women of colour modeling the outfits across the whole of their website.
Since the ‘revamp’, customers have noticed that among the changes in the brand’s aesthetic, there was also a change in the models, with them being replaced by mostly thin white women with the trending ”clean girl” look.
In the process of trying to stay on trend, many customers seem disappointed with the models they have chosen to launch the site, as well as the lack of better quality clothes for more money.
