After many questioned her next move in politics, Stacey Abrams announced last Tuesday ( August 13) at the International Union of Painters & Allied Trades Convention in Las Vegas that she would fight against voter suppression in the 2020 election.
“There are only two things stopping us in 2020: that people have a reason to vote, and that they have the right to vote”, stated Abrams.
With the approach of the 2020 Presidential election, Abrams’ “Fair Fight 2020’ campaign initiative is set to secure Americans’ votes. Free of foreign interference and voter suppression. Fair Fight 2020 is building voter protection teams with Democratic state parties or local allies across the country to protect the right to vote.
Abrams first announced her ‘Fair Fight’ campaign in Georgia due to malfunctioning voting machines and inaccurate registration polls that allegedly cost her the November Georgia gubernatorial race by two percent against her Republican opponent Brian Kemp.
Abrams started her campaign in Gwinnett this past Saturday at Annistown Elementary School.
“What we’re going to do through Fair Fight 2020 is we’re going to fight back. But we’re fighting early. We’re doing this now. We’re not waiting until we have a nominee. Because no matter who the Democratic nominee is- they’re going to win Georgia”, stated Abrams.
