Another Britney Spears doc is heading to TV screens.
On Wednesday, Netflix released a trailer for “Britney vs. Spears,” a documentary about the pop star conservatorship that started back in 2008.
In the teaser released the day before, an audio from Britney says:
“Hi my name is Britney Spears. I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship…,”
And then the audio is cut. It is allegedly from a a voicemail Spears left for a lawyer on Jan. 21, 2009.
The call suggests that Spears’ recent battle against her conservatorship isn’t the first time she’s pushed to be freed from it.
The trailer shares more of Spears’ words and fragments of interview clips from lawyers, medical experts and other parties examining the conservatorship.
“Britney vs. Spears,” directed by Erin Lee Carr, will hit Netflix Sept. 28, the day before the pop star’s next hearing.
The documentary “Britney vs Spears” follows the February release of The New York Times’ unauthorized documentary “Framing Britney Spears,” which also examined her conservatorship, her record-breaking career and the #FreeBritney movement.
