Anuel AA, the Puerto Rican singer, surprised his fans with the release of his new album Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren.

Last November Anuel announced on his social media that he would be retiring from music by posting a video with his son, explaining that he didn’t have enough time to dedicate to both her music career and his family.

The new release includes collaborations with Eladion Carrion, Mora, Jhay Cortez, and Myke Towers and this is the second project of the year of Anuel, following his collaborative record with Ozuna, Los Dioses. That release peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart, while his 2020 album, Emmanuel, hit No. 8.

The new album was created with the purpose of honoring the legends that inspired him, and it was created over eight months in the pandemic. The release includes pieces of Hip-Hop, Trap, and Reggaeton.

“During these last few months, I have grown as a person and artist. This album is my baby as it shares plenty of what I have been through this year and during my life, but overall, it has inspired me by honoring legends like Michael Jordan, Tupac, Conor McGregor, Kobe Bryant, Floyd Mayweather and more,” said Anuel AA of the album in a statement.

Anuel also released a new single and video featured in the album, ”Llorando En Un Ferrari,” (Crying in a Ferrari), which is a continuation of his “Leyendas” conceptual series.

Producers on the album include Chris Jeday, Gaby Music, ainy, Nelly “El Arma Secreta,” Masis, De La Cruz, Foreign Tech, Ovy On The Drums, and Subelo Neo.
